Bush Vine means 'untrellised' vines. It is a very traditional method of growing vines resulting in extremely small yields and a unique style. This wine exhibits grassy and herbaceous characteristics due the the shaded canopy. It has rich fruit flavours, considerable structure,crisp acidity and a high class extended finish. Will drink now but can develop with bottle maturation.

Villiera is the Grier Family wine business, situated in the Stellenbosch region, where the prevailing Mediterranean climate favours the growing of vines. The Merlot grapes for this wine came from carefully selected vineyards. They were hand picked and fermented in oak to produce a rich full flavoured wine with distinct aromas and tastes of mint, eucalytus and soft raspberry characters with background hints of oak and vanilla. This is a mature wine which may throw a slight deposit.

The Grier Family of Villiera's respect and understanding for the vineyards is naturally expressed in this wine. Complementary varietals were selectively handpicked from low yielding vines to form the foundation for this wine. An elegant structure and extended barrel maturation contribute to the wine's potential. "Monro" a historic family name symbolises the dedication and heitage that are the hallmark of this excellent wine.
